TEN81 Tips: Self-care

TEN81 Tips: Self-care

“Self-care is how you take your power back” – Lalah Delia

This time of the year people may feel fatigued and overwhelmed. This month we look at how to take better care of ourselves.

• Learn to recognise the signs of distress in your mood and behaviour. There are always tell-tale signs that you are headed for a “breakdown”

• Create a balance between your personal needs and work or family related demands. Take some “me-time”

• Maintain a sense of humour. Laugh at least once a day

• Spend quality time with friends and family

• Develop an alternative and healthy activity, like a hobby

• Do one lovely thing for yourself – just for you – each day

• Give yourself the same compassion, respect and kindness you’d give a loved one, close friend or family member
