“It is not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it” – Hans Selye
Everyone becomes overwhelmed and stressed out at times. Here are some tips on how to better manage stress.
•Keep a stress diary. It can make you more aware of situations and triggers that cause it. Then try to find ways of modifying or eliminating these triggering situations.
•Accept that there are events that you cannot control.
•Be assertive instead of aggressive.
•Practice relaxation techniques and/or exercise.
•Keep a positive attitude. Smile and laugh.
•Learn to view stress differently. See what is possible instead of what is impossible.
•Make it a priority to do something you enjoy.
•Talk to others.
